Mid Century Humor: Streng Bros Street Names

A few clever street names in Streng Neighborhoods include Home Court, Supreme Court and Our Way.

Drive into a Streng Bros neighborhood and you will notice some clever street names. From Elk Grove to Carmichael to Citrus Heights they always kept a sense of humor. Here are some of our favorites.

In Citrus Heights the Hidden Ridge development leads with the classic In Court and Frank Sinatra would love to own a Streng on Our Way. You can also bounce between Up Court and Down Way in the Eastridge development.

Carmichael plays the court game again in Evergreen Commons with Cool Court and The Court. Move to the Homewood Neighborhood and you can have Home Court advantage. Of course we think our neighborhood of Shelfield Oaks is the best of them all and the street called Classic Place confirms this. Shakespeare gets a nod with Hamlet Place. Whitney Village sports a Good Court. Head to Wildflower where you and Lou Reed can take a walk on the Wild Way.

Mid Century Modern house at the corner of Eastgate and Down.

Eastgate and Down existed years before the popular HBO series Eastbound and Down.

Moving to Sacramento, you can hide in Wilhaggin on Stowe Way. Overbook features a Hemlock Street. River College Square dresses up with a Clothier Way and makes a wink to its college roots with Buckenell Court, Tulane Court, McNeese Court and Xavier Court. River City Commons salutes its nautical roots with Inlet Court, Cattail Court, Blue Heron Court and Paddle Court.

Head to Elk Grove for more fun but don’t break the law or you might end up in the Supreme Court. Some other clever ones are Contemporary Court, Kind Court, Ski Court, Celery Court, Great Court, Cling Court, Cheer Court, On Court, Skydome Court and Elbo Court the best one may be taking a loop around Superb Circle.

Additional suggestions from Readers.

I received some great suggestions after I posted this article.

Kate Schwarm says “I can’t believe you missed Sesame Street in Evergreen Commons.”

Kate, Neither can I!

Lucas Abel posted “I’m convinced they placed Cling Ct and On Ct across from each other as an homage to Star Trek.”

Lucas, may you live long and prosper.
